UHBMES

The Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) at the University of Houston is a student-led organization dedicated to bringing together students who share an interest in biomedical engineering, healthcare, technology, and innovation. Our chapter is open to students of all majors, backgrounds, and skill levels—no prior technical experience is required. Whether you are pursuing biomedical engineering, exploring the field for the first time, or simply interested in how engineering and science can improve human health, UH BMES provides a community where you can learn, connect, and grow.

Our goal is to help students bridge the gap between the classroom and the broader world of biomedical engineering. Through professional development workshops, technical events, guest speakers, research and industry exposure, networking opportunities, and collaborative projects, we give our members opportunities to develop practical skills, discover career paths, and connect with faculty, researchers, professionals, and fellow students.

UH BMES is also committed to building a strong and welcoming community on campus. Through social events, outreach initiatives, mentorship, and hands-on activities, we encourage members to form meaningful connections, exchange ideas, develop leadership skills, and learn from one another. We believe some of the best ideas emerge when people with different experiences, disciplines, and skill sets come together.
